Panel 1
Vara states the stopping rules. Mali and Teren listen with empty hands. Mali wears her dark inner tunic and crimson sash; her outer jacket and sheathed sword have been left beside Neri.
Vara: A yield ends it. A raised open hand ends it. My word ends it.
Panel 2
Silent acknowledgment. Teren gives a small nod, and Mali acknowledges the rules. Neither attacks.
No dialogue.
Panel 3
Their feet settle on the dusty courtyard ground, with space between the two fighters. A soft scuff breaks the quiet.
Sound effect: SHFF
Panel 4
The courtyard holds still. Mali and Teren face each other in empty-handed guards without advancing. Vara watches from the side; Neri waits by the wall, where Mali’s sheathed sabre and ivory jacket remain.
No dialogue.
